Microsoft’s current attempt to become part of the Open Source World

I was reading an article from the TechRepublic that had an interesting spin on the Microsoft an their program called he Common OpenSource Application Publishing Platform or COAPP.  It focuses on creating an application package publishing platform that allow software to be built using a standard Windows installation routine.  If Microsoft can become part of the Open Source community without imposing any crazy usage licenses, I think that is great. I looked on the Microsoft Open Source website and didn’t find anything on it, but there are a few things that are in the works, such as drives for Linux to run in Hyper-V, that are interesting.  Check it out and watch Microsoft’s attempts to build Open Source software.
