Windows 7 Bench testing
Today I read some interesting articles about Windows 7 and how it performed. The articles were from PCWorld magazine and it says that Windows 7 narrowly out performs Windows Vista. However the boot time is suppose to be considerably quicker and the performance seems to be fast to the end user. It continues to talk about, once again the quicker boot time, better programmed User Account Control (UAC), improved media streaming features, and the true home networking features. The first article starts on page 76 of the August 2009 issue of PCWorld and the second is at http://www.pcworld.com/article/164485/speed_test_windows_7_may_not_be_much_faster_than_vista.html. So what I am going to do is to conduct my own benchmark testing and share the results with you. I will test on an HP 2133 Netbook, an older Gateway desktop with a Pentium 4, and on a hand built machine with a 2.4 Ghz Core2Quad. I will post my findings and the exact specs of the machines once I complete the bench testing.
